# Disable Closec Caption Wowza 3.0.4

Hello,

I’m trying to disable the closed caption Wowza 3.0.4.

The client, iOS 7.1.2 device, is showing the caption.

But I need to disable it.

I am following the following tutorials:

CLOSED CAPTIONS-= NONE on the EXT-X-STREAM-INF tag

Hi,

Closed Captioning support was only introduced in Wowza Media Server version 3.5.0

If you have content that includes closed captions and it is available through Wowza Server there isn’t really any configuration

available for earlier versions.

Wowza Streaming Engine recently introduced the TAG for CLOSED-CAPTIONS=NONE

in playlists, which is the best way to turn off unwanted captions on the server side.

However this is only supported in Wowza Sreaming Engine 4 and above.

If you were to update from your version 3.0.4 to a recent Wowza Streaming Engine release, you would have this capability.
