I’m looking to develop a program which allows users to broadcast their desktop to the public via an RTMP stream from their computer to Wowza, then publishing an RTMP feed from Wowza to a Flash-based player.

At the moment I’m getting some performance issues. There is, at lease, an eight second delay between the publishing and the playing.

Are there any known strategies for optimising the publishing? Is there some better way I could be doing this?

If you are using h.264 encoding and a low FPS, you can improve performance by increasing FPS.
