# CPU Dual Core CPU 8GB RAM

Hello.

Got a doubt.

Dual Core CPU 8GB RAM, 1 GB Ram is ok for 1000 connections 1024 kbps ?

I think you mean a 1 GB nic?

A 1 GB nic (20% accounted for in overhead) = 800mbs throughput, which is 800, 1 mbs streams, or 1600, 500kbs streams. So you could expect, at best 800 connections.

Disk: 2 or more in RAID 0 (striping)

High-load recommended production hardware

CPU: Dual Quad-Core or a single Hex-Core, 3.00 GHz or better

RAM: 16-32GB

Disk: 2 or more in RAID 0 (striping)

Network: 10Gbps Ethernet

Supported operating systems

Windows® (XP, Vista, 7, Server 2003, 2008, 2012)

Linux (all distributions)

Solaris

Mac® OS

Unix

If you’re Wowza for video on demand streaming please note the minimum disk requirements and RAID recommendations.

While your server will work, generally a late model dual quad cpu, 4 - 8g ram, 64bit OS and Java JDK, and 1 - 4gbs nic, is recommended.

You will have to test your server and be sure to tune your server as described in this article:
