I am running the Flash VideoChat Sample using localhost. I am seeing frames dropped and weird small pauses in the playback stream using zero buffer time. If I increase the playback buffer I notice buffer empty messages and long pauses in the video. After a long pause the video will ‘catch up’ and display frames in rapid fire. Note: _I can play the live video using VLC (rtsp) and it looks fine_. Also playing the recorded stream using VLC or Flash player looks fine. Any ideas on the cause? This is a brand new install of Wowza 4.4.0.

thanks,

mark

Okay the problem turned out to be the audio. I think Flash was not getting audio properly from my sound card so the video frames on the client were waiting for the audio data.
