I’m using **VOD** , currently have it setup pulling the VOD files from the content\Application folder.
We are wanting to save all of our video files on the D:\ drive of the server, instead of the wowza OS file path.

I’m not having any luck finding what the syntax would look like to tell wowza to look at the D drive instead of the C:\ drive and then going down the path to the wowza applications folder.

If I need to create a new application to do this that wont be an issue as we are in the early stages of setting up VOD with wowza.

**Example of where things are saved now:**
C:\Program Files\Wowza Media Systems\Wowza Streaming Engine 4.8.24+4\content\Example\Test.mp4

**Example of where we would like them to be saved:**
D:\vod\TestPath\Test.mp4

Thanks in advanced for your help.

@ben.conner as long as the same root user that has access to Wowza, has write permission to the D: drive, it should work.

If you are further stuck, I recommend sending the Wowza conf and logs in a support ticket for a Support rep to review:

Hey @Jason_Tuchler, Thanks for the quick reply.
Would you mind sharing what the syntax would look like to point Wowza to the D:\ drive?
Assuming this does work, I’m sure the issue is that I have entered it incorrectly. 😅

Also the D:\ drive on the server is not locked down so wowza would have access to it.

Here is what I have done so far. In the following location, **Server \> Media Cache \> Sources** I have added **D:/vod/** Is this the correct formatting, or have I missed something?

Then under the Applications tab, I made sure to point the Apps Media Cache sources to **VOD** that was created.

When creating your MediaCache source, did you select “Add File Source”?

Is your D: drive local to your computer?

If so, you might want to just point the VOD application to your D drive:
