# Cannot play HLS On-Demand while streaming a Live HLS

I’m having this strange issue: when I’m streaming a Live streaming using HLS and I try to watch file On-Demand using HLS I simply cannot open On-Demand streaming. It may be related with some misconfiguration. What do you think about it?

Thanks for contacting the Wowza Community!

When testing, are you trying to play the same live stream as VOD? If so, that will not work unless you have nDVR enabled. Information on this can be found [HERE](https://www.wowza.com/docs/wowza-ndvr).

If you are using separate applications and VOD playback is failing, we would need the log files to investigate why this is occurring. Could you open a case [HERE](https://www.wowza.com/support/open-ticket) and include the log files and description of the issue?
