# Buydrm HLS encryption

Hi,

I want to enable Buydrm with HLS, I had some discussions with the Buydrm support and they asked the following question: which specification is Wowza server using to apply DRM protection to HLS streams? They named some specifications like Discretixs, Ciscos, Harmonics, Microsofts.

Could you please enlight me regarding this?

Wowza Media Server’s integration with BuyDRM uses Microsoft PlayReady encryption. I hope this answers your question.
