Hi,

I’m using wowza to implement a solution for live streaming using Adaptative Bitrate for multiscreen iptv, to android devices (natif video player or tierce player like BSplayer) but :

RTMP/HDS needs a flash web player

HLS using smil file works with vlc but not working with android natif video player or BSplayer

RTP/RTSP are not adaptative bitrate

Any indication to make it ?

thanks in advance.

You’ve framed-up the problem well. There is not a general solution at present. I’m not sure of the latest and greatest Android, but the current Android client base is a hodgepodge of support for different technologies: Flash on some, HLS on others, and none of them working consistently for simple streaming much less ABR.

For simple streaming, rtsp is the best way to reach the most Android devices. But, as you note, ABR is not supported over rtsp.

So what can you suggest to make a multiscreen solution for android smartphone, Tablet an set top box ?

Have I provide one streeam for each client?
