# Advantages of upgrading to Wowza Streaming Engine 4

I was wondering what would be the advantages of upgrading from WowzaMediaServer 2.2.4 to the latest Wowza Streaming Engine 4?

Hi,

There are literally hundreds of reasons why you should upgrade to the latest version and these include many new features and functionality as well as fixes to some of the existing functionality.

just to add on to the above comments , in the wowza streaming engine we don’t have to configure applications manually like we used to do it in older version of wowza media server… fix Also check the release note for every new version of wowza where bug fix are mentioned…
