# Adding a custom codec to the transcoder options

We have a third-party video codec that we want to use in the Transcoder for live streaming with the Streaming Engine. Is there a way to add a codec to the options in the Transcoder ?

Unfortunately there’s not a way to add unlisted codecs to the transcoder templates. If needed, you can edit additional parameters with the help of this article:
